Own Education Own Career is a multi-institution education management platform operating in India. The Platform enables educational institutions — including schools, colleges, coaching centres, and training institutes — to register their profiles, teacher details, and available courses. Students access the platform through our mobile application to discover, compare, select, and enroll in courses offered by these institutions.

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• All students and parents or guardians who register on or use the Own Education Own Career mobile application or website.
• All educational institutions and their representatives (administrators, teachers) who register and maintain a profile on the platform.
• All visitors to oeoc.in, whether or not they have an account.

Section 02: Who We Are & Our Role

Own Education Own Career is an education management and consultancy platform. We are not an educational institution ourselves. Our role is to:

• Register and verify institutions — We onboard educational institutions, verify their details, and publish their profiles (courses, fees, teacher information) on our platform.
• Facilitate student discovery — We allow students to browse all registered institutions and their courses on the mobile.
• Process admissions — When a student selects an institution and course, Own Education Own Career facilitates and is responsible for the admission of that student into the chosen institution.
• Maintain records — We maintain records of registrations, course selections, and admission statuses for all parties on the platform.

Own Education Own Career is the data controller for all personal information collected and processed through our platform. Registered institutions are independent data controllers for data they collect and manage in their own systems after admission.

When you register as a student on the Own Education Own Career mobile application, we collect the following categories of information:

When an educational institution registers on Own Education Own Career, we collect detailed information necessary to verify, list, and manage the institution's presence on the platform. This includes:

• Institution Identity: Official name, registration number, type of institution (school / college / coaching centre / training institute), year of establishment, affiliation details, and official logo.
• Location & Contact: Full address, city, state, PIN code, official phone number, official email address, and website (if any).
• Authorized Representative Details: Name, designation, contact number, and email of the person registering the institution on the platform.
• Teacher & Faculty Details: Names, qualifications, subjects taught, experience, and profile photos of teachers associated with the institution, as required for course listings.
• Course & Programme Information: Names of courses offered, eligibility criteria, duration, fee structure, available seats, and any other relevant course details.

Section 05: How We Use Your Data

Own Education Own Career uses collected data solely for operating the platform, facilitating admissions, and improving user experience. We do not use your data for advertising. Our specific uses are:

• Creating and managing student and institution accounts on the platform and mobile application.
• Displaying institution profiles, course listings, teacher information, and fee details to students browsing the platform.
• Matching students with eligible courses and institutions based on their academic background and preferences.
• Processing a student's course selection and facilitating the admission of the student into the chosen institution — this is the core function of our platform.
• Sending admission status updates, notifications, and important communications to students and institutions via the app and email.
• Verifying institution credentials and documents before listing the institution on the platform.
• Enabling institutions to manage their student pipeline, view admission requests, and update course details through their admin panel.
• Monitoring platform activity to detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, or misuse of the platform.
• Generating anonymized, aggregated analytics (e.g., popular courses, cities with high demand) to improve the platform — these reports do not identify individual users.
• Complying with applicable Indian laws, regulations, and any lawful requests from government or legal authorities.

We will never sell your personal data, use it to serve third-party advertisements, or share it with any party not directly involved in your education journey on this platform.

Section 06: Admission Processing & Data Sharing

The primary function of Own Education Own Career is admissions facilitation. This section explains exactly how your data is shared during this process:

• Triggered by your action: Your student profile data is shared with an institution only when you actively select that institution and submit a course application through the mobile app. Simply browsing an institution's listing does not share your data with them.
• What is shared with the institution: Your name, contact number, email address, selected course, and admission application details are shared with the institution you applied to.
• What is never shared: Your browsing history, other institutions you viewed, other courses you explored, or your preferences that did not result in an application are never shared with any institution.
• Multiple applications: If you apply to more than one institution, each institution receives only the data relevant to your application to them. Institutions cannot see each other's admission data or know which other institutions you have applied to.
• After admission: Once your admission is confirmed at an institution, Own Education Own Career shares your necessary enrollment details with that institution for onboarding. From this point, the institution manages your academic data within their own systems.
• Platform responsibility: Own Education Own Career is responsible for the admission process itself — verifying applications, coordinating with institutions, and confirming admission status to students.

Section 07: Institution Obligations on Our Platform

Every institution that registers on Own Education Own Career agrees to our Institution Registration Agreement, which includes mandatory data handling obligations. By registering on our platform, institutions commit to the following:

• Providing accurate, truthful, and up-to-date information about the institution, its courses, fees, and faculty at the time of registration and throughout their active listing.
• Ensuring that teacher and faculty details submitted to the platform are shared with the informed consent of those individuals.
• Using student data received from Own Education Own Career exclusively for the purpose of processing admissions and managing the academic relationship with the enrolled student.
• Not selling, renting, or disclosing student data received via our platform to any third party for commercial, marketing, or unrelated purposes.
• Maintaining appropriate security measures to protect student data received through the platform.
• Notifying Own Education Own Career within 48 hours of discovering any data breach that involves student information received from our platform.
• Honoring student requests to withdraw applications before admission is finalized, and promptly deleting the student's data in such cases.

Section 08: Your Rights

With respect to personal data held by Own Education Own Career, you have the following rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at oeoc.care@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Right to Access

Request a copy of all personal data Own Education Own Career holds about you — your profile, application history, and admission records.

Right to Correction

Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information in your account, such as your name, contact details, or any other details.

Right to Withdraw Application

Withdraw a pending course application before admission is finalized. We will stop the process and request the institution to delete your application data.

Right to Delete Account

Request deletion of your Own Education Own Career account and profile. Data already shared with an institution at time of completed admission cannot be recalled by us.

Right to Data Portability

Request your profile and application history in a machine-readable format (CSV) for your personal records or to use with another service.

Right to Raise a Complaint

If you believe your data has been misused, you may raise a formal complaint with us or with the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction.

For rights related to data held by a specific institution after your enrollment with them, please contact that institution directly.

Section 09: Data Security

Own Education Own Career implements a range of technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or disclosure:

• All data transmitted between the mobile app or website and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS / TLS encryption.
• Passwords and sensitive credentials are stored using strong hashing algorithms — plain-text passwords are never stored.
• Access to personal data within our team and systems is controlled on a strict need-to-know basis with role-based access controls.
• Our servers and databases are hosted on secured cloud infrastructure with regular backups and access logging.
• We conduct periodic internal security reviews and address vulnerabilities as they are discovered.
• In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by applicable law.

Despite our best efforts, no system connected to the internet can be guaranteed completely secure. We encourage all users to keep their login credentials confidential and log out after each session on shared devices.

Section 10: Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy or as required by applicable law. Our retention periods are as follows:

• Active Student Account: Retained for the duration your account is active on the platform. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
• Admission Records: Records of completed admissions are retained for up to 5 years for dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and audit purposes.
• Pending / Withdrawn Applications: Application data for courses not pursued is deleted within 90 days of withdrawal or inactivity.
• Institution Profiles: Retained for the duration the institution is active on the platform and for 2 years after the institution's deregistration.
• Teacher Details (submitted by institutions): Retained as part of the institution's profile while the institution is active. Removed upon institution deregistration or upon a verified request.
• System Logs & Usage Data: Retained for up to 12 months for security monitoring and platform analytics.

Section 11: Cookies & Mobile App Tracking

On our website (oeoc.in), we use cookies and similar technologies. On our mobile application, we use equivalent tracking mechanisms (device identifiers, app analytics). Here is how we use them:

• Essential / Session Cookies: Required to keep you logged in and maintain your session. Cannot be disabled without affecting platform functionality.
• Preference Storage: Remember your app settings, search filters, and shortlisted institutions between sessions.
• Analytics: Anonymized, aggregate data about feature usage and popular content — used purely to improve the app and website. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• Push Notifications (Mobile App): We may send push notifications for admission updates, new course alerts, and important platform messages. You can manage notification preferences in your device settings at any time.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any tracking technology that serves third-party ads.

Section 13: Third-Party Links & External Websites

Institution profiles listed on the Own Education Own Career platform may contain links to the institution's own external website, social media pages, brochures, or other resources. Own Education Own Career does not operate or control those external websites and is not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

When you follow a link and leave the Own Education Own Career platform or app, this Privacy Policy no longer governs your data. We recommend you review the privacy policy of any external website you visit before providing any personal information to them.

Section 14: Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our platform features, legal requirements, or data practices. When material changes are made, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
• Send a push notification via the mobile app and an email notification to all registered students and institution admins at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
• Display a visible in-app banner informing users of the update and providing a link to review the changes.

Your continued use of the Own Education Own Career platform or mobile application after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you may deactivate your account before the effective date.
